2023 Highlights!

July '23 saw the first ever Dumfries Drum Day which was a great success and has proven there is interest for a unique event like this.

Richard James

A true veteran of the D&G music scene! Over his career Richard has taught drums & percussion, played in cover bands and started his career in the military - even performing at the Edinburgh Tattoo!  

Callum Edwards

Callum is a busy drummer based in Glasgow. Back in 2013 he was a finalist for UK Young Drummer of the Year and today you'll catch him playing with the Red Hot Chili Pipers touring the UK, Europe, Asia & the USA!

Dave Major

Originally from Moffat, Dave now lives in Edinburgh where he teaches and runs his online drum school. Dave is an experienced educator and clinician with a massive online following to back him up!

Bob Irving

Drums have enabled Bob to travel the world. Bob plays in the original bands Artax and Elias T Hoth where you'll find him regularly gigging. He is also a session drummer, educator & organiser of this event!

Student Performers '23

Performances from up and coming young drummers featuring a live band! Featuring songs from the Trinity Rock & Pop syllabus.

Lily

Only being in P3, Lily has lots of drumming practice under her belt already! Be sure to catch her performance featuring songs by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arctic Monkeys & Michael Jackson!

Kit

A proper rock fan, you'll find Kit jamming with his dad and friends at home. This is his first time performing on stage and you'll hear songs by Nirvana, Blur & Weezer!  

Eddie

A fan of live music Eddie enjoys learning and playing along to his favourite songs. Eddie's going to be playing songs by The Black Keys, Modest Mouse & The White Stripes! 

Sophie

Drumming seems to run in Sophie's family so don't miss this rockin' set! This is Sophie's first time performing with a band and her performance will feature songs by Alicia Keys, Eddie Floyd & The Cult!

Bob Hollis - Bass

Most live music fans in D&G will be familiar with Bob performing solo as he's regularly playing the circuit! You may also know him from More From Jim and currently you'll catch him slappin da bass with Reiver!  

Jasmine Galvin - Keys

A glasgow based pianist who plays weddings, functions and corporate events, Jasmine is joining us on keys for Dumfries Drum Day! See if you can hear the smooth sounds of her harmonies and backing vocals too! 

Alastair Taylor - Guitar

Alastair teaches guitar lessons for the Instrumental Music Service and Skyline Guitars in Annan. Like bassist Bob, Alastair was also a member of More From Jim but you can catch him today playing in The Criffel Top Boys!

Katie Wills - Vocals

A Glasgow based musician, you'll find Katie performing solo at weddings and functions. Katie is also the lead singer and lyricist in the rock band Artax. See her rocking out in the music video Rise by Artax!
